Located at Ivetsey Hospital and delivered for Active Care Group, the project comprised extensive strip-out, structural alterations, and phased refurbishment works across ground and first floor accommodation. The scope included the reconfiguration of bedrooms, ensuites, clinical areas, staff facilities, and circulation spaces, alongside the installation of temporary access arrangements to maintain hospital operations throughout the programme. All works were carefully coordinated within a live environment to minimise disruption to patients and staff.

Internal reorganisation formed a key element of the scheme, with new partition layouts, ceilings, and finishes introduced to modernise the existing accommodation. Structural interventions were undertaken to remove and support loadbearing elements, enabling improved spatial layouts while maintaining building integrity. New doorsets, internal and external windows, and anti-barricade and anti-ligature features were installed throughout, significantly enhancing safety and compliance within patient areas.

The project placed strong emphasis on durability and hygiene, with robust finishes specified across walls, floors, and wet areas. Altro flooring systems, Whiterock wall linings, and specialist joinery were installed to provide long-lasting, easy-to-maintain surfaces suited to healthcare use. Bespoke furniture, storage, and bedroom fittings were incorporated to improve functionality while maintaining a calm and controlled internal environment.

Mechanical and electrical systems were comprehensively upgraded to support the refurbished layouts and modern clinical requirements. New comfort cooling, ventilation, domestic services, drainage modifications, and heating systems were installed and commissioned, alongside upgraded electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, access control, and data systems. These improvements delivered enhanced environmental control, reliability, and safety throughout the facility.

The Ivetsey Hospital refurbishment demonstrated OTL Group’s capability to deliver complex healthcare projects within live operational settings. Through detailed planning, close coordination, and high-quality execution, the works transformed existing accommodation into modern, compliant spaces that improved patient safety, staff efficiency, and overall building performance, providing lasting value for the hospital and its users.
