Works were delivered across multiple areas of the home and focused on upgrading resident and staff-facing environments, including corridors, lounges, dining spaces and serveries, reception and café areas, and back-of-house clinical/support rooms. Targeted improvements were also completed to drugs stores, nurse/clinical offices, sluice rooms, and visitor amenities, strengthening functionality and supporting safe, efficient care delivery.
Resident accommodation formed a core element of the programme, including refurbishment of standard bedrooms alongside fifteen premium ensuite upgrades. Assisted WCs and assisted shower facilities were improved in key locations, and spa bathroom upgrades were incorporated to enhance resident experience with robust, easy-to-maintain finishes suited to a live care environment.
The project was planned and sequenced to support an occupied care setting, with controlled working areas, clear access arrangements, and high standards of cleanliness and safety to minimise disruption to residents, staff, and visitors. OTL Group maintained close coordination with the client team and home management, aligning progress with operational requirements and ensuring each phase was completed, closed out, and handed over in an orderly manner.
Recognizing the importance of well-being in the workplace, The Future Workspace incorporates wellness zones, meditation areas, and biophilic elements to foster a sense of calm and balance. Ergonomic workstations, standing desks, and active design principles encourage movement, while breakout lounges, rooftop gardens, and communal kitchens provide spaces for relaxation and informal interactions. The entire environment is curated to support mental and physical health, ensuring a workspace that energizes and inspires.
Supporting systems were accommodated within the delivery, including provisions for nurse call, fire alarm, and IT/telephone/data interfaces, ensuring the refurbished areas remained fully functional and aligned with the home’s operational standards. The result is a refreshed, more resilient environment with improved resident facilities, upgraded support spaces, and enhanced electrical safety measures, delivering long-term value for the home and its users.
